Department Head's Message
The department is rich with many competencies specialized in medical education and holds its meetings weekly throughout the academic year.
The Department is structurally formed from 3 main units. The Medical Curriculum Unit deals with adjusting and updating the specifications of courses, formulating educational problems that make the learning experience rich for students and female students, in addition to supervising classrooms and schedules and monitoring the progress of the educational process in courses from level three to eight.
The Examinations and Assessment Unit is responsible for refining and enhancing theoretical, practical, and standardized assessment processes, as well as monitoring control committees. It plays a crucial role in developing mechanisms and conducting workshops related to the latest assessment methods.
Third units of the department are the e-learning unit, which supervises training faculty members on e-learning programs and coordinates between the college and information technology, and contributes to standardized examinations for male and female students in the program.
The department’s role is crucial in overseeing and developing medical education at the college level, in accordance with the latest educational and pedagogical methods. It reviews all relevant mechanisms periodically and holds training workshops for all program personnel, including faculty members, throughout the year. It contributes to scientific production through periodic publications on policies of learning and teaching, examination and assessment mechanisms, as well as documenting and disseminating King Saud University’s experience in medical education.
