Laboratory Department


The medical laboratories provide important and essential information that enables doctors to diagnose diseases, treat them, and monitor the patient's condition.

The hospital’s laboratory possesses high-tech equipment enabling it to perform a wide range of laboratory tests to obtain the most accurate results as quickly and with the best possible quality, in order to provide the highest level of service and care to patients. The laboratory contains several departments offering services around the clock and staffed by specialized doctors, a group of specialists, and technicians with high expertise and skill. The following departments are included:

  • Blood Draw Department:

  • إن عملية سحب عينة الدم هو عامل مهم في مرحلة ما قبل التحاليل والتي يمكن ان تؤثر على صحة النتائج في مرحلة التحليل أو ما بعد التحليل. يتم جمع العينات في العيادات الخارجية بواسطة أخصائيين المختبر المؤهلين لسحب الدم، وكذلك يقوم طاقم التمريض بسحب العينات في الأقسام الداخلية وقسم الطوارئ.
  • عملية جمع العينات تشمل الآتي:
  • - جمع العينات للتحاليل الروتينية والعاجلة. (STAT)
  • - ضمان عدم تأثر العينة أثناء النقل من وإلى المختبر.
  • - نقل العينات إلى قسم الاستقبال في المختبر.
  •  -ضمان سلامة المريض والموظف اثناء سحب الدم.
  • قسم استقبال العينات
  •  يتم في هذا القسم استقبال العينات من العيادات الخارجية، والطوارئ والعناية المركزة والتنويم. حيث يتم فرز وترقيم وتجهيز العينات وتوزيعها على بقية أقسام المختبر حسب الفحوصات المطلوبة.

  • Clinical Chemistry and Endocrinology Department

The department conducts a large number of routine and rare tests for chemistry, hormones, immunology, virology, minerals, and salts in blood samples. This department relies on the latest technologies and analytical instruments that analyze body functions, hormones, immunity, and viruses with the most accurate results and in the fastest time. These instruments include the following:

1- Cobas C 311 device

يستخدم جهاز Cobas C 311 لاجراء الفحوصات التالية:
- فحص السكري والسكر التراكمي.
-  إختبار وظائف الكلى.
- إختبار وظائف الكبد.
- نسبة الدهون.
- فحوصات القلب التشخيصية.
- أيونية الدم والمعادن.
- هشاشة العظام.

2- جهازCobas e411
 يستخدم  جهاز Cobas e 411 لاجراء الفحوصات التالية:
- فحوصات الغدة الدرقية وعموم الهرمونات.
- تشخيص العقم للذكور والإناث.
- فحوصات تشخيص ومتابعة الحمل.
- دلالات السرطان وعلامات الأورام مثل (PSA)
- فحص فيروس الكبد الوبائي و فيروس نقص المناعة البشري.
-  فحص الفيتامينات والمعادن النادرة.

  • Department of Hematology and Thrombosis

    This section provides a range of important tests for the purpose of diagnosing cases of anemia and other hematological disorders and abnormalities. The tests are performed accurately and efficiently using the Sysmex XN–350 device. This device counts and examines the shape of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets in a blood smear.
    This section also provides measurement of all clotting factors, a large number of coagulation tests, and blood balance and bleeding indications, which is carried out by the Sysmex CA - 500 device

    • Department of Microbiology

    The Microbiology and Parasitology Department is equipped with the latest equipment and technologies to provide basic diagnostic tests in microbiology, bacteria, mycology, and parasitology. The Microbiology and Parasitology Department is responsible for culturing samples to diagnose infections, where urine, blood, and other body fluids are cultured to detect the microbes causing body infections, as well as sensitivity tests for antibiotics are performed to choose the appropriate antibiotic, and the department also performs urine and stool analyses.
    The following equipment is used in this department:
    1- VITEK 2 COMPACT device: This device is one of the best devices for identifying all types of pathogenic bacteria accurately and quickly, as well as identifying the classification of bacteria and testing their sensitivity to antibiotics. The device is characterized by high accuracy in results, where the type of microbe is identified in just 5-8 hours, and the appropriate antibiotics are identified in just 6-10 hours.
    2- Bact Alert 3D device
    This device is used to detect a wide range of microorganisms such as microbes and fungi in blood. This device works reliably, which helps to reduce human error rates due to its reliance on a barcode system, in addition to its ultra-fast speed in displaying initial results of the presence of bacteria in patient blood samples, which helps doctors in making rapid diagnostic decisions and putting appropriate treatment plans.

    • Department of Serology

    In that section, important tests are performed such as: Blood sedimentation rate, blood type, and typhoid fever, Malta fever, and malaria tests, as well as rheumatoid factor (RF) tests. And tests for other antibodies such as (ASO).

    • Blood Transfusion Services Department

    The Blood Transfusion Services Department provides patient blood tests and blood type compatibility matching, antibody screening and titration testing to ensure the safety and security of blood transfusions for patients.
