The Department of Internal Medicine is one of the most important and largest specialized centers for diagnosing and treating internal medicine diseases in various branches. It includes specialized units that diagnose various diseases requiring urgent care as well as those requiring high-level care, as well as diagnosing chronic diseases, under the supervision of a group of consultants and consultant women holding Western and Arab fellowships. The department treats many pathological cases, most notably diabetes and its complications, high blood pressure and cholesterol, thyroid, pituitary, and adrenal gland disorders, and other endocrine diseases. The department also provides several specialized units for measuring respiratory function and rheumatism.
