Among more than thirty universities that include medical colleges in the Kingdom, young Najran University holds the fourth position among all universities in terms of owning a specialized university hospital dedicated to it, coinciding with the launch with the start of specialized studies in health colleges at the university,
And on Sunday, corresponding to 13/03/1433H, the university hospital was officially inaugurated under the kind patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mishaal bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, former Governor of the Region, after its expansion in its departments and development in its services, where it integrates with providing service all scientific departments in health colleges through its specialized cadres and various laboratories.
Currently, the university hospital includes 25 specialized clinics, an emergency department, and intensive care units for men and women, as well as operating rooms, recovery rooms, and intensive care units with a capacity of 62 beds. It also houses a comprehensive central laboratory, an imaging diagnostic center, an educational and training center, and several supporting services. The hospital includes clinics for Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Otolaryngology (ENT), Ophthalmology, Urology, Orthopedics, Cardiology, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Family Medicine and Community Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dentistry, Anesthesia, Optometry, Audiology, in addition to providing all the diagnostic and therapeutic services that patients generally need through its clinics, as well as many specialized services in this field.
The hospital has performed a number of surgeries in the specialties of general surgery, laparoscopic surgery, ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat) surgery, and urology surgery under the supervision of Saudi professors and consultants from King Faisal College of Medicine as a step forward in the hospital’s specialized departments.

Patient Rights
Obtaining appropriate healthcare.
2. Receiving an adequate diagnosis and treatment for the illness and pain by a qualified medical team for that purpose.
3. Accepting or refusing any treatment, with notification of you regarding the resulting complications on your health status, and potentially requiring you to sign a specific form regarding this.
4. Not being given any treatment plan or medication unless medically justified.
5. Visiting the treating consultant or one of the specialists from his medical team within 24 hours of the patient’s anesthesia and on a daily basis.
6. Not undergoing any surgical intervention or examination unless you are provided with the information in a comprehensible language and your signature (Acknowledgment Form) on it.
7. Receiving the necessary information in a language you understand about the medical procedure or process that will be performed, with the aim of education in conferences or workshops.
8. Being informed about your illness diagnosis, treatment plan, expected outcome, side effects, potential complications, and follow-up plan by the physician.
9. Not being subjected to medical research or studies unless you consent to it.
10. Your medical and personal data will be handled with secrecy and privacy, except for those you wish to inform, or upon request from legal authorities.
11. Providing health education specific to your illness to ensure the stability of your condition after admission to the hospital.
12. Formatting and clarifying the medical follow-up procedures after your discharge from the hospital.
13. The ability to express an opinion and discuss the health services provided to you by the hospital.
14. Providing you with documents related to your illness (reports, statements, leaves) as needed.
15. The right to meet with a patient relations representative or administrative official to ask questions and make complaints at any time and to know the procedures followed in that regard.
16. Discharge from the hospital will be after recommendations from the consultant physician, clarifying the necessary medications and the date of the next follow-up appointment with specific instructions for home care if needed.
17. Obtaining the necessary information regarding the cessation of life support according to the hospital’s laws and regulations.
Patient Obligations
1- Providing complete and accurate personal data when opening a file or being admitted.
2- Providing complete and accurate information to the treating medical team about the medical condition.
3- Understanding that King Saud University Hospital in Najran is a educational institution for male and female medical students, as well as health colleges and institutes, and their willingness to conduct clinical examinations.
4- Applying the systems of the state and general Islamic etiquette regarding behavior and legal appearance.
5- Following the regulations and rules of Najran University Hospital which are:
- Complete prohibition of smoking within the hospital.
- Respecting the privacy of other patients by refraining from wandering between rooms and departments of the hospital.
- Adherence to visiting hours and regulations of the hospital. Visitors will not be allowed to enter outside of designated visiting times.
- Adherence to the rights of visitors and employees of the hospital and respect for them.
- Compliance with the regulations of the medical department, unit, or clinic where healthcare is provided.
6- Punctual attendance at the scheduled appointment or prior notification in case of inability to attend.
7- Following the agreed-upon treatment plan by the treating medical team.
8- Exercising caution when handling the belongings of other patients, employees, and hospital property to avoid damage.
9- Compliance with leaving the hospital upon issuance of discharge order by the attending physician.
