Committee Tasks
- Proposal of policies and procedures regulating scientific publishing under the University’s name.
- Study of what is presented to the Scientific Council regarding scientific output published under the University’s name, and submission of recommendations related thereto.
- Recommendation for forming review committees and referees for any scientific output submitted to the committee.
- Study of reports of peer review of books submitted for publication through the University or for inclusion in academic promotions from the works and translations and critical editions, and submission of necessary recommendations regarding them to the Scientific Council.
- Study of proposals for the issuance of scientific journals and ensuring their compliance with the requirements and regulations applicable at the University, and submitting appropriate recommendations concerning them.
- Recommendation for forming or restructuring the editorial boards of academic journals at the University.
- Study of proposals for establishing or dissolving scientific societies within the University, and submission of necessary recommendations.
- Proposal of rewards and incentives to encourage distinguished research output in accordance with approved standards and regulations.
- Consideration of appeals referred to the committee regarding decisions related to the committee’s area of expertise.
- Preparation of an annual report on the Committee's activities and the efficiency of its procedures to ensure the quality of scientific publications presented under the University’s name.
- Study of matters delegated to the Vice-Chancellor for Graduate Studies and Research pertaining to scientific publishing, and submission of recommendations from the study.
