The Faculty of Science and Humanities for Girls at Buraidah was established in 1423 AH (“girls”) under the name of the College of Education, which at that time was affiliated with the Agency for Women's Colleges and offered some specializations. With the launch and establishment of Najran University in 1427 AH, the College of Education for Girls was restructured and joined Najran University in 1427/1428 AH, thus becoming affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education. In 1430 AH, the name of the college changed to Buraidah Faculty of Science and Humanities, and new departments were added so that the faculty includes six departments: Islamic Studies Department, Arabic Language Department, Mathematics Department, Chemistry Department, English Language Department, and Computer Sciences.
At the beginning of the 1430/1431 AH academic year, studies began in the male department in the Computer Science and English Language departments, with approximately (120) students enrolled, 60 in each department. Also, a branch of Community Service and Continuing Education was inaugurated which offers a diploma in Computer Science, with approximately (150) students enrolled.

The College awards the Bachelor of Education and Sciences degree and currently includes "Male Branch" four departments which are: Department of Islamic Studies, Department of Mathematics, Department of English Language, and Department of Computer Science. The Female Branch comprises six departments which are: Department of Islamic Studies, Department of Mathematics, Department of English Language, Department of Computer Science, Chemistry, and Arabic Language.
